LINZER

History fact :  The cookie recipe (originally a tart) was discovered in the cookery manuscript of Countess Anna Margarita Sagramosa In Austria in 1653.

Linzer Plaetzchen in German—which translates to "bright Linzer cookies"—are two buttery shortbread cookies sandwiched together with a jam that peeks out through the cutout in the top half.
